Malaysia Is Celebrating Children’s Day 2008
Hari Kanak-Kanak Sedunia / World Children’s Day
Perayaan Hari Kanak-Kanak Sedunia telah disambut di Malaysia sejak tahun 1959. Di Malaysia, perayaan ini disambut setiap tahun pada mana-mana hari Sabtu bulan Oktober.
Pada dasarnya, Hari Kanak-Kanak Sedunia mempunyai dua objektif utama iaitu:
~ merupakan penghormatan dan pengiktirafan masyarakat terhadap kanak-kanak dan hak-hak mereka
~ menyedarkan setiap golongan masyarakat akan tanggungjawab mereka dalam memelihara hak dan masa depan kanak-kanak
Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Sabah telah dipertanggingjawabkan oleh Kementerian Pembangunan Masyarakat dan Hal Ehwal Pengguna & Majlis Perkhidmatan Masyarakat Sabah untuk menganjurkan perayaan Hari Kanak-Kanak Sedunia di peringkat Negeri untuk beberapa tahun sejak tahun 1996.
Selain mengadakan perayaan Hari Kanak-Kanak Sedunia di peringkat Negeri, kerajaan juga dikehendaki menyertai perhimpunan Perayaan Kanak-Kanak Sedunia di peringkat Kebangsaan yang biasanya diadakan di Semenanjung Malaysia.

The World Children’s Day Celebration was the brainchild of the International Union for Child Welfare of the United Nations. The first celebration was in 1953 where 40 countries participated. In 1954, the United Nations approved the celebration and UNICEF was given the responsibility to manage the celebration. Malaysia first celebrated World Children’s Day in 1959. Now, over 150 countries in the world celebrate World Children’s Day.
The purpose of the celebration is to create awareness of the responsibilities of all members of society especially parents, private and public agencies have to protect the rights and the future of children as well as to enable members of the public to appreciate the need to uphold the rights and dignity of children in accordance with the rights as accorded to them by the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The State level World Children’s Day celebration is held in October each year in conjunction with the National celebration.
We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today. ~ Stacia Tauscher ~

Guru Naik Pangkat

Guru Malaysia Naik Pangkat
Kerajaan Malaysia telah meluluskan kenaikan pangkat seramai 2,787 pegawai yang berkhidmat di Bahagian Pendidikan Guru (BPG) dan pensyarah yang bertugas di 27 Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) serta Pusat Latihan Bahasa Inggeris (ELTC) baru-baru ini.
Menteri Pelajaran (KPM), Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein berkata, daripada jumlah itu, sebanyak 793 Pegawai Perkhidmatan Pendidikan Siswazah (PPPS) gred DG41 akan dinaikkan pangkat ke gred DG44 dan seramai 1,540 orang PPPS gred DG44 akan dinaikkan pangkat ke gred DG48. Seramai 449 orang PPPS gred DG48 akan dinaikkan pangkat ke gred DG52 dan seramai lima orang PPPS gred DG52 pula dilantik ke gred DG54.
”Senarai nama dan pensyarah yang terlibat telah pun diperakukan oleh BPG untuk ke peringkat tapisan keutuhan dan surat pelantikan akan dikeluarkan oleh Bahagian Sumber Manusia (BSM) dalam masa terdekat”
”Mereka yang terlibat dalam proses kenaikan pangkat ini akan menerima kenaikan tangga gaji dan elaun,”
Cadangan yang dikemukakan oleh Kementerian Pelajaran itu diluluskan dalam Mesyuarat Lembaga Kenaikan Pangkat, Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) 25 Ogos lalu.
Hishammuddin berkata, BPG sedang memproses senarai cadangan lain untuk proses kenaikan pangkat fasa kedua.
Menurutnya, kelulusan itu merupakan satu berita baik dan amat dinanti-nantikan oleh warga pendidik khususnya di IPG dan ia merupakan perkembangan penting dalam sejarah perkhidmatan perguruan.
Tahniah kepada guru-guru yang telah memberikan perkhidmatan mereka yang cemerlang selama ini.

I wanted to talk to all the new marketers today about one of the biggest decisions you have to make when marketing online: That is- CHOOSING THE RIGHT NICHE MARKET
I can’t tell you how important it is that you choose a niche that has money in it! I know that many people are always saying “anything can be a niche”, and while that’s not wrong, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be making much more money.
Let me show you one example, I spent a ton of time creating a really strong site, and now get hundreds of visitors a day. But the problem is that I don’t make as much money per visitor as I had expected.
Why? Because my niche contains people that aren’t exactly looking to spend their money online.
Now I am going to suggest to you, that if you want to make a living online, you must think long and hard about the niches you are going to pursue. Make sure that the niche has decent products that people will be chomping at the bit to purchase.
How do you do that? Easy! Just go to Google or Yahoo search engine, and do some research using one of the keywords in your niche. Take a look at the ads that show out. If people are running lots of ads, this tells you that there is money in the niche. It’s as simple as that!

Penilaian Pelaksanaan PPSMI 2008

Program Pemantauan & Penilaian Pelaksanaan PPSMI
2008–2010 (Fasa2)
Mesyuarat Khas PPSMI yang dipengerusikan oleh Ketua Pengarah Pelajaran Malaysia pada tahun 2007 telah memutuskan penyelidikan dan penilaian PPSMI hendaklah dijalankan secara menyeluruh di semua sekolah rendah dan menengah. Sehubungan dengan itu, satu pasukan petugas yang dianggotai oleh bahagian-bahagian Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia (KPM) telah ditubuhkan untuk menjalankan Program Pemantauan dan Penilaian Pelaksanaan PPSMI 2008 – 2010. Tujuan program adalah untuk menilai pelaksanaan, mencadangkan penambahbaikan dan memacu kemajuan bagi memantapkan dasar PPSMI.
Program ini melibatkan pengutipan data melalui soal selidik semua guru yang mengajar mata pelajaran Sains, Matematik dan Teknikal. Pengutipan data dilaksanakan sebanyak dua kali setahun, iaitu pada minggu ketiga April dan minggu ketiga Oktober, bermula dari tahun 2008 hingga tahun 2010.
Semua guru yang terlibat dalam pengajaran PPSMI dikehendaki membuat tindakan susulan berdasarkan item soal selidik sebelum penilaian seterusnya. Cikgu adalah dipohon untuk menjawab SEMUA item yang terkandung dalam soal selidik ini dengan jujur dan ikhlas. Segala maklumat yang cikgu berikan adalah SULIT dan hanya digunakan untuk tujuan penambahbaikan program PPSMI.
