Guru Lepasan KPLI Akan Dikurangkan
Kerajaan bercadang mengurangkan pengambilan guru siswazah menerusi Kursus Perguruan Lepasan Ijazah (KPLI) selepas Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) di seluruh negara mula mengeluarkan tenaga pengajar berkelulusan ijazah pada 2011.
Ketua Pengarah Pelajaran, Datuk Alimuddin Mohd Dom, berkata ia sejajar keputusan Dewan Rakyat kelmarin meluluskan Akta Pendidikan 1996 (pindaan 2008) yang membenarkan IPG menyediakan kursus perguruan peringkat ijazah.
Beliau berkata, pengambilan guru siswazah menerusi KPLI adalah sementara dan berdasarkan keperluan atau kekosongan jawatan. “Ketika ini, IPG hanya boleh mengeluarkan guru lepasan diploma dan sijil. Bagaimanapun, selepas Akta Pendidikan 1996 diluluskan, ia boleh melahirkan lebih ramai guru siswazah dalam tempoh tiga tahun lagi. Berikutan itu, kita perlu mengurangkan pengambilan guru program KPLI secara berperingkat pada masa depan,” katanya. (Petikan dari NUTP)
